Tuesday was a very diverse day. In the morning, groups returned to Shelburne Farms to continue their field work. In the afternoon, the students participated in Electives, which are short programs offered by various faculty that give the kids a chance to experience a different aspect of science. Some people went out onto Lake Champlain on the UVM research vessel Melosira, others used a Scanning Electron Microscope to look at nature 100,000 times bigger, and much more. In the evening, the groups gathered in Perkins Hall to begin planning and working on their interpretive products for the week. |
