She has a passion for studying GeoChemistry and loves going underground into mines and interpreting the rocks and minerals. She sings Irish music, despite the fact she doesn't have a pint of Green Beer in her veins. In addition, she enjoys making pickles glow and creating cinder cone volcanoes with (NH4)2Cr2O7.

Nathan Poore: An Earth Science teacher at Missisquoi Valley Union High School. His interests lie in Limnology and Ornothology as well as Fly-Fishing. He recently proposed to his girlfriend of 3 years (finally), and she accepted (whew). Throughout the week, he was more than happy to don his high-tech bug nets and polarized shades, along with his UNH clothes, which he is being paid to wear while on the UVM campus.

Heather Fitzgerald: Recently received her master's degree in Ecological Planning from the University of Vermont (Nice Job!). She enjoys looking at small plants and stepping back and taking at look at the landscape scale. While not traipsing around with the Governor's Institute, she likes biking, cooking, learning to play the harmonica (softly, she promises), long walks on the beach, and cuddling up with a book by a cozy fire.

William Schoonover: An experienced GIV SATer of four years. Bill began working for the Governor's Institute even before he starting teaching high school science. For the past two years, Bill has taught Physics, Biology, and Ecology at Gailer School in Shelburne (Talk about a Renaissance Man!). When he is not climbing trees or trudging through wetlands, he is spending time with his wife of 2 years, Shelley Gustafson, a former GIV SAT teacher (the perfect couple).

Mr. Paul Bierman: Another experienced GIV SATer, as a eight-year veteran. Also married to the Director of GIV SAT, which enables him to stay up all night fixing things. Enjoys teaching, playing with his two-year-old, and cross-country skiing. He also enjoys having hair (A long lost memory). Note: Gave a GREAT presentation for our Educators of Vermont Dinner. Congrats Paul!
