WELCOME TO THE LOWLANDS WEBSITE

This is a photo of most of our group taking a lunch break by the river on Wednesday, July 4.
This week a group of eleven students and three "specialists" from the Science and Technology branch of the Governor's Institute of Vermont went to the Lowland area of the Vermont Audobon Center. We were able to learn about the area with the help of our "specialists" Rick Strimbeck (Ecology/Botany), Nancy Jones (Biology/Botany), and Chris Lamon (Geology), we were able to learn about the area in and around the lowlands. We covered many subjects ranging from the types of soil in the area, to the rock formations and streams in the park, to the wildlife and plantlife in and around the area. We also learned how to use many tools to aid us in our exploration of the area. We are building this webpage to help educate the general public (if anyone actually looks at these pages) about the time we spent in the Lowlands of the Audobon Center.
