Reaching over the water a 95 year old white oak provides a base for an abandoned beaver lodge.

We found the age of the tree by using a tree coring tool.

 

Above is a topographical map of the lake floor.

"Guano Island" is the top of an underwater ridge line that provides a sanctuary for the local seagulls.

The island is located in the southern end of the lake, at the center of the lake basin.
