We owe a great deal of gratitude to the non-profit Vermont Youth Conservation Corps for all of their work, because without them we would not have been able to walk through the woods at all. Two weeks before we began our observations the park had only one sandy path through a ravine in the middle of it, but by the time we showed up a beautiful trail was cleared, allowing us to travel easily through the forest. The VYCC was formed in 1985 with a one-dollar appropiation from the legislature. For over 14 years the VYCC has grown and completed many projects, and hopefully the youth enrollement will soon be 1000 strong. Check out their website: http://www.vycc.org/.
