Welcome To Aron Lembke's Summer 1999 Summer Governor's Institute Page

Well just so you can get to know me a little, here is a goofy picture of me working hard.

I live in Guilford (southeast corner of Vermont) and attend Brattleboro Union High School.

During the week of June 27 to July 4, 36 students from around Vermont participated in the Governor's Institute. Within these 36 students we were put into three groups of 12. The group that I was assigned to was the group that went to Indian Brook resevoir. Here is a picture of the Indian brook Resevoir...

At the resivoir we spent two days looking around and having specialists teach us their specialties. After they were done we broke into groups of two and studied what we were interested in more closely. I decided to study the wildelife around the resevior. One major place that there is a lot of wildlife is around the wetland. The wetland is located to the north of the resevoir. There is all kinds of wildelife there and I learned a lot about the different kinds of wildelife.

When Bill and Paul (the water and wildelife specialists) came this is what ended up happening (on purpose!!!!!)

Unfortunally we didn't have great weather the whole time and ended being stuck out in the rain a few times like in this pic. (even though I don't seem that wet).

On Thursday we were very lucky and got to go out on the UVM research boat and look at things we had collected throught the week through a Scaning Electron Microscope which has incredibly powerful magnification.
