Rebecca Grella, Founder, Executive Director and President, AIZA BIBY

Grella earned a B.S. in Biology and a Masters Degree in Applied Ecology from SUNY Stony Brook. Her Masters thesis was titled "Conservation, Children, and the Media" and will be submitted for publication in February 2001. Grella developed the idea for the Aiza Biby Charitable Trust during three months of ecological field work in Madagascar. Recognizing that conservation efforts today do not adequately address future generations, Grella founded Aiza Biby as the first conservation organization for kids, run with the assistance of kids. Grella’s fifteen years as a professional clown and volunteer service with children’s welfare organizations have put her in contact with over 500,000 children on Long Island and New York City and have given her a unique background in which to base the Aiza Biby organization. Grella has established excellent relations with children and community leaders in each of the Aiza Biby target regions of Long Island, Madagascar, and Costa Rica. Grella is currently serving as both Executive Director and Visions project Director.
