Bill
Prindle directs the Alliance's overall policy and program activities
related to energy efficiency in buildings and utility programs.His
current activities include upgrading building energy codes, appliance
standards, developing new ways to deliver energy efficiency in
deregulated electricity markets, and coordinating the Alliance's
10-person Buildings Team.
He rejoined the Alliance staff in 1996 after four years at Barakat & Chamberlin, Inc., a leading national economic and management consulting firm.Most of his work there centered on helping electric and gas utilities develop Demand-Side Management and other customer programs.This work included developing new strategies for customer offerings in competitive markets.His specialties included helping develop financing programs, and in using information technologies to enhance new customer offerings.
From 1987 to 1992, Bill served on the Alliance staff in the buildings area, leading initiatives in home energy ratings, energy efficient mortgages, building codes and standards, and low-income weatherization techniques.He helped develop some of the energy ratings and building codes provisions of the Energy Policy Act of 1992, and worked on energy efficiency provisions in the National Affordable Housing Act of 1990.
He brings to the Alliance 25 years of experience in the energy and environmental field.His earlier experience includes:
Energy management consulting in energy efficiency, water quality, and renewable energy with firms such as Peat Marwick, Solar Building Products, and Cardinal Management Associates.
Association experience including serving as Manager of Commercial and Industrial marketing for the Edison Electric Institute, and providing staff services to the National Association of Energy Service Companies.
Bill has testified in Congress, serves on the boards of several energy associations, has presented at conferences across the U.S. and in Europe, has published in numerous trade and professional publications, and has appeared on radio and television programs related to energy efficiency.He holds a B.S. in Psychology from Swarthmore College, and an M.S. in Energy Management and Policy from the University of Pennsylvania.
