--We learned how to make a river cross-section by taking the depths across Centennial Brook.--We measured the slope of the riverbed.--We found the speed of the water by floating different objects a certain distance down the Brook.--Finally, putting all of our measurements together, we calculated the flow of the Brook in cubic ft/sec. |

We looked for insects in the Brook, try to catch them (if we could!) to study and identify them in the bucket. Certain insects in a river indicate whether or not the river is "healthy." |

We identified wetland plants such as joe pye weed, arrowhead, cut grass and others. When we couldn't identify a species we looked it up in a book! |

We learned about surface tension in this paint, water and soap experiment! |

You can imagine the smell of gallons and gallons of sewage! |

Wanna closer look?! |
