Requirements

  • One introductory geology class (1, 5, 55)*, 62, 101, 110, and 260.
  • At least three credits of field experience are highly advisable (through field-based research project 197/198 or advanced field 201).
  • Three Geology courses at the 100 level or above.
  • Senior seminar (GEOL 291 & 292) or minimum of one semester research (GEOL 197, 1981).
  • Three additional courses in Geology or approved science, mathematics, engineering, or statistics at the 100 level or above selected in consultation with Geology advisor.
  • Math 19, 20 or 21, 22.
  • Chem 31, 32 (or 35 and 36).
  • Physics 51and 152 strongly recommended.
  • Total Hours: 31-35 hours Geology & 23-26 hours geo/math/ancillary science

*GEOL 7 Earth Hazards will not count as an introductory course for the major or minor.
