Birth Order

What’s That Got to do with Family Business?

Date: October 06, 2005
Time: 6:00 - 8:00pm
Presented By: Dr. Jack Agati
Location: Old Mill Building, John Dewey Lounge, UVM Campus, Burlington,

Description:

 This entertaining and unique presentation explores the impact that our place in the family our birth order has on our styles of managing and dealing with people. Each position in the birth order brings with it unique characteristics that influence how a person views the world, chooses to behave, and prefers to deal with everyday activities.

This on-campus event kicks off our VFBI program year and also will be an opportunity to meet UVM students from family-owned businesses.

Participants in the “mini-forum” will:

  • Identify the various characteristics of each birth order position;
  • Explore how each birth order relates to management styles, supervision, organizational development;
  • Develop management strategies for the effective use of birth order information in the work and family setting;
  • Apply birth order information to our personal and professional lives and relationships.

    WHY WE NEED YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER
    Act 192 of the 2008 Vermont Legislature requires employers and other training providers receiving support from the state to provide the social security number of each individual participating in the training to the department of state government supporting the training. The social security number will be used to gather wage information from the Department of Labor's files after you complete training, in order to evaluate the training program.

    The Departments of Labor and Economic Development must provide information on the employment outcomes of training programs to the Legislature. Your information will be combined with information of other trainees to ensure your privacy and the privacy of your employer. The law requires the departments to keep your information confidential.
