UVM Extension's 4-H Growing
Connections program is offering an exciting training opportunity in garden-enhanced nutrition education!
Vermont School and Youth Garden
Conference
April 12, 2008
Vermont Law School, South Royalton, Vt.
9 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
Please help spread the word about this training opportunity offered
as a collaboration among University of Vermont Extension's 4-H Growing
Connections Program, Food Works, and the Vermont Community Garden Network.
The conference format includes opening and closing plenary sessions,
workshops, exhibits, a seed swap, and a networking lunch.
Educators, youth leaders, Master Gardeners, and community volunteers who are interested in the conference are asked to take the pre-conference survey by clicking on the following link: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=Q6TFtXQtl_2b3Gfi0lWfiKtA_3d_3d.
The online survey is mostly multiple choice questions and will take about five minutes to complete and submit. The survey provides an opportunity to respond to question prompts and indicate if you are interested in attending, exhibiting, and/or presenting at the conference. Please lend your voice to the survey!
A web page with information and a conference registration form is available at http://www.burlingtongardens.org/youthgarden_conference.html.
Participants are encouraged to register by April 8 as the conference
has a capacity of 100 people.
Conference organizers include: Joseph Kiefer, Food Works; Sara Coblyn Porth,
UVM Extension, 4-H Growing Connections; Linda Berlin, UVM Extension; and
Jim Flint, Friends of Burlington Gardens.
Please note that training on the 4-H Growing Connections curriculum will be available
at the conference, along with the opportunity to receive the curriculum, evaluation
materials, and funding. This will be the only 4-H Growing Connections training
this year, so be sure to sign up for this conference ~ it's also a great opportunity
to learn about other programs and curricular ideas.
