Intro to Ag Financial Management

Time: 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Location: Burlington & White River Jct, VT
Description: Registration deadline: Jan. 20, Cost: $120
Scholarship and Financial Aid information: Financial aid is available for eligible individuals. At the end of the registration form, you can make a request for financial aid.

This course provides farmers with the knowledge they need to understand and complete a balance sheet, income statement and cash flow statement. Participants will learn the basics of budgeting and skills to anticipate the financial needs of their farm operations. Participants can choose to participate in a clinic with one-to-one assistance at no additional charge.

Classes will be offered simultaneously in Burlington and White River Junction, Vermont, with an on-site instructor at each location. Introduction to Shiitake Mushroom Production

Description: Presented by Ben Waterman, mushroom grower and coordinator for the Northeast Sustainable Agriculture Research & Education funded project, "Cultivation of shiitake mushrooms as an agroforesty crop for New England."

New YOrk Shooting Sports Training Workshop

Time: 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
Description: The annual New York 4-H Shooting Sports Training Workshop will be held on February 21-23, 2014 in Ballston Spa, NY. All Vermont 4-H Shooting Sports leaders or current 4-H Leaders who would like to become 4-H Shooting Sports Instructors are welcome to attend. Please direct all questions for more information to Bill Schwerd as indicated in the brochure. Please let Lisa Muzzey know if you plan to attend. The cost is $85.00 not including lodging - although some may be available in their bunk style dormitory. This is a wonderful training and many Vermont Instructors find this time of year easier to get away for the weekend.

The Vermont Training is scheduled for May 9-11th.

Practical Produce Safety Plan Workshop
