Local 4-H'ers Shine at Northwest Regional 4-H Day

Faith Ploof of Essex shows off her tabletop exhibit on "Goldendoodles: the Best of Both Worlds" at the Northwest Regional 4-H Day, April 12, in Vergennes.

Vergennes--Talented 4-H'ers from 20 clubs in Addison, Chittenden, Franklin and Grand Isle Counties took part in the Northwest 4-H Regional Day, April 12, at Vergennes High School in Vergennes.

The annual event provides young people, ages 8 to 18, with a showcase to demonstrate what they have learned through University of Vermont (UVM) Extension 4-H projects. The top exhibitors in the various categories, which included stage presentations, action exhibits and photography, among others, qualified to attend 4-H State Day, May 17 at the Barre Civic Center in Barre.  State Day features outstanding 4-H'ers from throughout the state, some of whom will continue on to regional competitions later this year.
