EFNEP Lesson Topics

EFNEP's programmatic content and methodology are evidence-based. EFNEP uses knowledge gained from social, behavioral, and biological sciences to continually improve the program and to address emerging issues.

Lesson content is derived from the USDA's Dietary Guidelines for Americans. Participants learn how to:

  • Plan nutritious meals
  • Increase physical activity
  • Stretch their food dollar
  • Handle, store and prepare food safely
  • Prevent obesity through healthy lifestyles
  • Identify and utilize emergency and non-emergency food assistance
