Your passion for Vermont's forests, commitment to their protection and hard work in their stewardship is inspirational. To say thank you, we've planned a series fun, social and educational events throughout the year. Meet others, learn something new and pat yourself on the back.
These events are free and open everyone. However, to keep group size small some events are limited to 10-15 participants. Please sign up below to reserve your spot!

Hit the Slopes with Landscape Architects, Stowe Mountain Resort
March 8, 2013 · 8:30am onwardsJoin Vermont's Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects for their annual Ski Day. Enjoy a day skiing and socializing with some of Vermont's coolest landscape architects. Alpine skiers, riders and free-healers will be gathering at Stowe Mountain Resort and cross country skiers will be meeting at the Trapp Family Lodge. Following the full day of fun, we will gather for the Apres Ski and Dinner. Come be a part of this great tradition and enjoy discounted tickets ($64 for alpine, $22 for x-country). Dinner is optional ($45 drinks not included). See you on the mountain!
Winter Tracking, Groton State Forest

Big Trees of Brattleboro, Brattleboro

This will be a smaller version of Bill's famous Windham County Big Tree Tour held in the fall. Come stand among some of Vermont's biggest and coolest trees. This is sure to not disappoint.
Tour the Butternut and Chestnut Orchard, Brandon
June 5, 2013 · 5-7pmJoin butternut canker expert and retired UVM professor, Dale Bergdhal and Chris Casey of Green Mountain National Forest for a walk through what is hoped to be Vermont's future Butternut. Learn about the work underway to save Vermont's butternut through growing grafted seedlings from what we think are disease resistant butternuts from VT and NH. We'll also take a stroll through the adjacent American chestnut orchard to learn about recovery efforts of this noble tree.
