9/2012 – Aerial Cover Seeding Project
Recently, the University of Vermont Extension led an aerial cover crop seeding pilot project primarily in Northern Vermont. The cover crops were sown over ripening corn fields so that the plants were established before the corn was harvested. This process will help farmers lock nutrients into the soil and reduce potential erosion issues in the Lake Champlain watershed.
