Blackboard Collaborate
What is it?
Blackboard Collaborate (formerly Elluminate Live!) is a browser-based platform used for web conferencing, that supports live and recorded audio/video, chat messaging, a shared whiteboard, screen and application sharing, interactive polling and more. Through virtual classrooms, teacher/presenters can interact with participants in real-time.
Scheduling a Webinar
Before planning a class, workshop or meeting in Blackboard Collaborate, you are encouraged to familiarize yourself with the platform by doing some of the on-line tutorials. The Technical Support page has a full library of product information and training.
We have 10 rooms for every hour of every day with a total seat number of 100 seats in every one of those hours and classrooms. To schedule a session, submit the Webinar Request Form (Extension employees & faculty only)
At minimum, you will need to provide the following information:
- Name/Title of the class, meeting or workshop
- Date of the event
- Start time and End time of the event
- E-mail address for a second moderator that you are working with on the event
You will receive an e-mail which contains a Participant Link that you can send to your potential audience members. They will be able to use the link in the e-mail to join the session on the specified day and time.
