Kids with an interest in learning how to use a digital camera, including mastering different photographic techniques, are invited to sign up for a free digital photography camp, July 25-27, in St. Johnsbury.
The University of Vermont (UVM) Extension camp is open to anyone entering grades 5-8. It will be held from 8:45 a.m. to noon at the St.
Johnsbury Municipal Forest on Alms House Road. If the camp is rained out on any of those dates, it will be rescheduled for July 30, 31 or Aug. 1. Participants also must be available to attend all three rain dates.
AmeriCorps member Candy Daniels, who works with the UVM Extension office in St. Johnsbury, will lead the sessions, which include many fun hands-on activities, games and photo challenges designed to learn how to take great outdoor shots. A limited number of digital cameras will be available for use although if possible, campers should plan to bring their own along with a bag lunch and healthy snack each day.
The deadline to register is July 20. Space is limited, so early registration is encouraged.
Contact Daniels at cldaniel@uvm.edu (for fastest response) or (802) 751-8307, ext. 364, or (800) 545-8920, ext. 364 (toll-free in Vermont). Requests for disability-related accommodations must be made by July 18.
