Whole Farm Planning for Beginning Women Farmers

Time: 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Location: Berlin Extension Office
Description: Beginning women farmers (those with 2-10 years running a farming business) in Vermont can learn more about whole farm planning in a program developed specifically for women.

Application Deadline: Nov. 13, 2014
Fees: $150-$500

Scholarship and Financial Aid information: Financial aid is available for eligible individuals. At the end of the registration form, you can make a request for financial aid.

Building a Sustainable Business

Description: The Building a Sustainable Business course guides participants through developing a business plan for farm businesses. This class is designed for people who have completed Growing Places and/or who have at least one year of commercial production experience and production/financial records of their own.

Early registration deadline: Nov. 12, 2014; Cost: $110
Standard registration deadline: Nov. 26, 2014, Cost: $150
Registrations received after Nov. 26, 2014 will be subject to a $50 late fee.

Community Level Tree Risk Management Webinar

Description: Mark Duntemann, founder and owner of Natural Path Urban Forestry Consultants, will present and kick off our 2015 webinar series with his talk: "Community Level Tree Risk Management". Using Vermont-based examples, Mark will discuss the management of tree risk at the community level. He will provide strategies with a goal of maintaining a healthy, expanding, and safe community forest while reducing the potential for harm.
