Microsoft Campus Agreement Implementation Project

Microsoft Campus Agreement Implementation Project

Goal: To implement Microsoft Campus Agreement for all UVM faculty and staff for Fiscal Year 2006, starting July 1, 2005.

Background: Several academic and administrative units have funded Campus Agreement subscriptions since 1999.  For Fiscal Year 2006, UVM has enrolled in Microsoft Campus Agreement at the institutional level, covering all faculty and staff.  UVM has joined with other institutions, through a consortium coordinated by NERCOMP, to bring down the cost of Campus Agreement.  The fullfillment partner will be SHI.  CIT will do financial administration (BSAD and COM will continue to administer CA for their students).  Microsoft is providing consulting help for software distribution.  The University's experience will be reviewed prior to our renewal date, and a decision will be made whether to continue in the program for FY 2007.

What is Campus Agreement?

Campus Agreement provides licenses to widely used Microsoft software for an annual subscription fee, with upgrades included at no extra cost. (In contrast, Microsoft Select Agreement software licenses are perpetual, for a one-time fee, and do not include upgrades.)
