Recommended Software
Your computer will be pre‑loaded with UVM’s suite of
network software, including Norton Antivirus and UVM versions of
Internet Explorer and Netscape Communicator.
We also recommend purchasing Microsoft Office at substantial discount from Microcomputer Services when you buy your computer.

When you arrive on campus, install and configure Antivirus and other UVM software according to the instructions available in your residence hall main office.
Locate sources of support and repair services
o Bring system CD-ROMs, diskettes needed to reinstall the computer’s operating system
o Bring CD-ROMs, diskettes needed to reinstall additional devices (printers, scanners, etc.)
o Bring CD-ROMs, diskettes needed to reinstall all software
o Bring registration and licensing information for all installed software
o Bring registration and warranty documentation for vendor repair services
