Environmental Studies at UVM

ENVS 267 Environmental History Seminar

The course will examine the interaction between humans and the environment throughout history. The focus will be on North America, but since nature tends to ignore political boundaries, we will also examine other regions from time to time. We will look at how various peoples experienced their environment: how they attempted to change it, how they were limited by it, and how they thought about nature.
