Joe Russell (he/him/his) is currently the Assistant Dean of Students at the University of Vermont (UVM). Joe began his career at UVM in 2005, and has held numerous roles over the years. In his current role, Joe leads the UVM Care Team and helps coordinate support and behavioral intervention for students who are struggling or in distress. In addition to supporting students, Joe also provides guidance and information to parents/guardians when their student is experiencing significant challenges at UVM.

Originally from Kingston, Jamaica, Joe came to UVM having completed his undergraduate degree at Vassar College and maintains a passion for supporting international, BIPOC, and LGBTQ+ students and communities.
