Custodial Services Staff Appreciation 2009Week of September 13th-19th
During International Executive Housekeepers Week the University of Vermont Custodians received recognition for their commitment to provide a cleaner, safer, healthier environment
for our university community here at UVM. We encouraged students, faculty, and staff express their appreciation to their building housekeeper during this week of celebration via email,
posters, banners, and closed circut bulletins. We held a recognition lunch. Recognized staff for: longevity of service, attendance, earning their American Citizenship and exceptional
service efforts for H1N1 preperation at UVM. We also gave them small tokens of appreciation every day such as thank you notes from their supervisor.
The theme for this week's event was centered on the Custodial Services Core Values contained in the acronym "I CARE" - Integrity, Commitment, Accountability, Respect, Excellence

International Housekeeping Week HistorySince 1981 IEHA has celebrated International Housekeeping week. UVM began celebrating this two years ago with a "thank you" lunch for our staff.. We see this as an opportunity for
the entire UVM community to say "thank you" to all of the custodians that service the campus. We ask that everyone take the opportunity to thank the custodian in their area in a way that you see as appropriate.
Say "Thank You" to a custodian today.
The next IEHA Week is September 12 - 18th 2010. You will be hearing more from us in the future about this.
