1.2 Access Your Course
The My UVM page contains links to the UVM Home Page, to Blackboard Help, and to the Logout icon. It contains a menu of frequently used tools.
The majority of the page contains modules for such things as “What’s New,” “MyCourses,” and “UVM News.” This page is customizable: you can add or remove modules, and modify the layout.
The MyCourses module lists all the Blackboard courses with which you are associated as either an Instructor, a Builder, or a Student. You may also view this list at any time by clicking on the “Courses” tab at the top of the window.
To enter a course, click on its name.
Your view of the course and your student’s view of the course are exactly the same with one small exception: students do not have access to the Control Panel.
The first page you and your students land on is “Announcements.” New announcement postings are created within the Control Panel. The banner image is optional and can be changed via the Control Panel.
Just above the banner and announcements are the navigation links, or “breadcrumbs.” These appear throughout Blackboard to help you navigate. You can also use your browser’s “back” button.
