What is your role in the Center for Student Ethics and Standards?

I process incoming Residential Life reports, Project Discovery paperwork, and off campus reports. I handle student records, enter student information in our database, and process our student survey. I also answer the phone and assist in supervising our work study students.

How long have you worked at UVM?

I've worked at UVM since 2011 and plan to stay for a long time! I love working in an academic setting.

Name another career you would enjoy doing other than your own and why?

I have two passions: I would want to work as an independent artist. I would love to have my own studio to paint and create art. I'm also very interested in pursuing children's book illustration. Secondly, I have a background in Bio. Anthropology, specifically primate behavior, so I would really love to study their behavior and ecology or I'd love to be somewhere really hot where I could dig with a toothbrush in the dirt looking for bones or artifacts!

What brought you to UVM or Vermont?

My family and I moved to Vermont in 2004 from Los Angeles. My husband grew up in Middlebury, VT and had this incredible childhood so I wanted the same for our children. I've really grown to love Vermont and it's been a magical place to raise a family. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else in the U.S.

What is your favorite kind of music?

I like to listen to many kinds of music: Alternative, folk, classical and I love global music.

What is your favorite place on campus to grab lunch and why?

My favorite place to eat is the Davis Center for sushi. I love the spicy tuna rolls with a side of seaweed salad!

What did you major in during college?

I studied Biological Anthropology with a focus on primate behavior as well as Studio Art, specifically painting and ceramics.

What is your best advice for a current UVM student?

Take in the academic environment as much as you can while you're here. Get to know your professors well and get involved in your field of study. Study abroad. This time is an amazing opportunity. Work hard to not let it slip by too quickly or without really taking advantage of the resources available to you.

What is your favorite season and why?

I love summers in Vermont! There are so many festivals to go to and almost every night of the week a local farm has live music to listen while eating a picnic dinner. I love being by the lake in the summer and watching the sun set.
