Second and Third Year Student Advising
Advisee Assignments
Students in their sophomore, junior and senior year are assigned to an advisor within their major. Academic advisors are listed in a student's account accessible through the MyUVM portal. Students are encouraged to contact their advisor regularly - at the beginning of each semester and before registering for courses.
Responsibilities of an Advisee
Faculty advisors expect students to come to meetings with a solid understanding of the curriculum and the major requirements. Curriculums can be found on department webpages. Prior to meeting with their advisor students should review their CATS Audit. Students are encourage to come with questions; advisors can provide students with their perspective and help them to make informed decisions.

Intent to Graduate Form
Students anticipating completion of their degree programs should fill out and return the Intent to Graduate Form by the deadlines below. This is an important confirmation of the completion of degree requirements and supplies necessary information for commencement publications. Advisor-approved Intent to Graduate forms should be returned to the Office of Student Services, 002 Rowell.
Intent to Graduate Form Deadlines
October Graduates finishing coursework in summer: August 1
December Graduates finishing coursework in fall: October 1
May Graduates finishing coursework in spring: December 1
*Deadline for ALL MLRS students: Oct. 1

CATS Audit
Graduating students should meet with their advisor and run a CATS audit early during their last academic year to review degree requirements.
