First Year Graduate Student
Prior to joining the Cellular, Molecular, and Biomedical Sciences program, I received a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a Master of Science in Biological Sciences from Southeastern Louisiana University.
I am originally from Lockport, Louisiana and grew up on the bayous southwest of New Orleans. True to my Cajun heritage, my favorite things to do are eating and cooking.
As an undergraduate, I worked under Dr. Michael Doughty and synthesized adenine-based inhibitors of HIV-1 Reverse Transcriptase.
For my Master’s thesis, my major professor was Dr. Penny Shockett, and I analyzed illegitimate V(D)J recombination events in Notch1 and Bcl11b genes of mice.
Here at UVM, I am currently rotating in the lab of Dr. Christopher Landry and studying serum protein aggregation on mesoporous silica nanoparticles.
