Profile

I have an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Master’s in Virology from Pakistan. I worked as research assistant with Prof. Qureshi at Department of biology, LUMS, studying gene regulation mechanisms in archaea. After that I worked in a clinical setting as research associate at Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital exploring genetic linkage in breast and ovarian cancer patients.

Apart from that, my master’s thesis dealt with studying viral factors responsible for hepatitis b virus persistence among chronic patients.

Research Description

I have joined CMB program in Jan 2014 and my current rotation is with Prof. Sylvie Doublie where I will be exploring DNA repair machinery using crystallographic and proteomics techniques
