Haein Kim
First Year Graduate Student
Profile
I graduated from Haverford College in 2009 with a degree in chemistry. After graduation, I worked with Dr. Rodney Camire in the division of hematology at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, looking at the molecular mechanism behind factor V/factor Va inactivation by activated protein C. I came to UVM in the fall of 2012 to learn more about the structure/function relationships of proteins in the context of hemostasis and other biological processes. This is my first big move away from Philadelphia and sometimes I find myself wanting to see some skyscrapers, but I am definitely looking forward to taking advantage of the outdoors during my stay in Vermont.
