Application Information

Applications for admission must be accompanied by a non-refundable $40 fee and are only accepted online. The application form requires three letters of recommendation, official transcript of all colleges attended, and a personal summary of interests (statement of purpose). In addition, Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores are required and must have been taken within five years. Subject GREs are not required. Residents of countries outside the United States in which the principal language is not English, will be required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). The minimum TOEFL score for admission to UVM is 80, but students must have a minimum TOEFL score of 100 to be considered for funding.

Waterman Building and Converse HallA student applying for financial aid must submit her or his application as soon as possible, to ensure adequate time for processing and evaluation by the Admissions Committee. Although an interview is not required, we find it advantageous, especially if the applicant is requesting financial aid.

The deadline for fall 2010 admission is January 15, 2010.
