Statistical Software Support and Consulting

Academic Computing Services provides support for statistical software to the UVM community, as well as general statistical consulting. This service is provided by Alan Howard (M.S. Biostatistics, 1980), who has been serving users of statistical software at UVM since 1986.

Currently supported statistical software includes:

Note: UVM does not have a site license for JMP, but support is provided to those who have purchased or rented JMP on their own. JMP can be purchased from jmp.com or rented from e-academy.com (see "Quick Links" to the right).

Statistical therapy is provided in the following areas:

  • experimental design
  • selection of appropriate statistical methodology
  • assistance with power and sample size calculations
  • interpretation of results of analyses
  • assistance in responding to reviewers' comments
  • installation/licensing of above software packages
  • programming assistance in these packages
  • instruction in the use of these packages
  • troubleshooting programming errors
