The Municipal and Ecological Planning Project was started as a GIS-based project which analyzed a variety of databases to produce the first GIS analysis of Taulabe, Honduras.  This multi-faceted mapping database includes locations of caves and other potential ecotourism attractions, town water systems, agricultural development, and other physical attributes, and continues to be used to analyze deforestation and water quality data in the area.
The project has since evolved to include training in capacity building and grant writing for municipal partners and governments, and the planning of other economic development strategies. CID pic
