Bio/Interests:

Ryan Farran - was born and raised outside of Greensboro, NC. He earned a BA in Psychology at UNC-Chapel Hill, where he researched aggression in preschool children and the impacts of arthritis on teenagers. After traveling throughout Europe and working in a family-owned organic restaurant in Scotland, Ryan returned to his home state to employ myriad long-sought after skills, including gardening and farming, outdoor recreation, antique clock repair, and the support of Southern music pioneers. He spent the last year engaged in early childhood projects and substance abuse-related issues as an AmeriCorps*VISTA for the City of burlington's Community and Economic Development Office. Among his current interests are rural economic development, urban neighborhood revitalization, active community involvement, social welfare, and issues of community sustainability. Ryan began the CDAE program in Fall, 2005.
