Service Learning Areas

Dr. Dan Baker has been bringing students to Honduras since 2000 to work on a variety of integrated Community Development projects including appropriate technology for small-scale sugar producers, water systems planning and implementation, womens small business, womens self defense, elementary education, and ecotourism. Students have the opportunity to experience working on on-going international projects, and learn valuable applied project planning and community development skills. The course is made up of two parts: a preparation class during the spring semester, and a two-week implementation trip to Honduras in May/June. Please visit the Classwork and Project sites to learn more about this exciting program!
