Scene Shop Manager

Having joined the Theatre & Dance Programme Team at UVM in 2023, Thomas has been skirting the lines between performance, visual and design art production, and installation for some time. He has worked in stage craft, scenic construction, as a gallery and workshop technician, as well as supporting and teaching in higher education curriculums in venues across both the United States and United Kingdom.

Before arriving in Vermont, Thomas worked in creative industry establishments in Scotland including Glasgow School of Art, City of Glasgow College, University of Strathclyde, and the Centre for Contemporary Art, to name a few. In the USA, he has worked for theatre companies and theatre educational programmes including Syracuse Stage, Arena Stage, Woolly Mammoth Theatre, Portland Centre Stage and Mount Hood Community College, again to name a few.

As well as collaborating with artists, musicians, galleries and theatres, he is also in the habit of creating community experiences and engagement opportunities, especially around food and environmental action. Thomas holds a BA in English from Virginia Commonwealth University and an MSc Architecture: Advanced Environment and Energy Studies from University of East London.
