Antonio Cepeda-Benito“Time flies and flies fast —particularly when one is having fun!” I’m not sure “fun” is the most accurate word to describe my first three months at UVM but I definitely can say that there have been NO dull moments. In the last couple of days the temperatures have dropped and some of my “well-intentioned” friends seem to think I am too attached to my hat and my coat and say things like, “Oh, this is nothing—in February we get a day like this and you’ll see us all out in shorts.” Really? Spotlight on Romance Languages and Linguistics

Cristina Mazzoni Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Peru, Puerto Rico, Spain, and the United States are the fourteen native countries of the thirty-six faculty in the Department of Romance Languages and Linguistics (RLL). French, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish are the four languages we teach, with Portuguese offered for the first time at UVM in 2009. Learn more from Department Chair Cristina Mazzoni.

2012 CAS Dean's Staff Awards

CAS Staff Appreciation 2012 The College of Arts and Sciences annual Staff Recognition Luncheon was held on Monday, September 24, in the Livak Ballroom at the Davis Center.  As part of that event, Dean Antonio Cepeda-Benito had the pleasure of announcing the winners of the 2012 Dean’s Staff Awards for Superior Performance.  Read more.

Team UVM Wins Audience Award

Team UVMAt the  Vermont International Film Festival, Team UVM won in the Sleepless in Burlington event. This is a picture of them at the screening--showing the effects of over 36 hours of work!   Their film, Mixed Bag, also garnered a Best Actress Award and an honorable mention for one of the crew member's appearance in the film. Three of the students are Film and Television Studies Program majors and all were members of the first Integrated Fine Arts Program, a full-year residential TAP program. The students, who are all seniors now, are from L-R, Julian Smith, Jake Seymour, Eliza Walp, Josh Hammond, and Eliza Trengrove.
