Erika coordinates and teaches within the Art Education program.  She earned her BS in Art Education from UVM and her M.Ed. with a concentration in Arts in Education from Saint Michael’s College. Erika spent fifteen years teaching art in a public elementary and middle school in Shelburne, Vermont before joining the Art and Art History Department. Erika is passionate about Art Education and in training the next generation of Art Educators to teach and inspire young artists. She believes that as educational priorities swing from one direction to another it is vital that the arts provide a place for children to make connections, play, reflect, and grow in order to prepare them for a future in which creativity will be an essential attribute.
