2013 Strategic National Arts Alumni Project (SNAAP)
- By Craig E Wells
The College of Arts and Sciences at UVM cares about the future of our students. Our commitment is to ensure that the education we provide translates into both intangible and tangible gains. With this in mind, and to learn more about how our students fare after they graduate, we are pleased to announce that we will be participating in the 2013 Strategic National Arts Alumni Project (SNAAP) – a one-of-a-kind survey that explores the lives of arts alumni nationwide. SNAAP is supported by grants from the Surdna Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, and other foundations.
We are hoping that alumni who graduated with majors in the arts (Studio Art, Art History, Film, Television, Music, and Theatre) between 1978 and 2013 will consider responding to the survey. By updating your current email address with UVM’s Alumni Relations ofice at https://alumni.uvm.edu/updateinfo/index.php or sending it to the CAS Dean’s office (firstname.lastname@example.org), our alumni can be sure not to miss the chance to share school and life experiences and to help to shape the future of arts education across the country and at the College of Arts and Sciences.
Alumni will receive an email invitation to participate in the on-line survey this fall and, after completing the survey, will have access to a site to see how their educational and career experiences compare with alumni from across the country. See where other arts graduates live, where they work, what they earn, and how their arts educations have influenced their lives.
The time spent sharing those experiences will help participating colleges, universities, and arts institutions across the country better prepare students for success, whether they stay in the arts or use what they’ve learned in other professional fields.
