2012 CAS Staff Awards Announced

The College of Arts and Sciences annual Staff Recognition Luncheon was held on Monday, September 24, in the Livak Ballroom at the Davis Center.  As part of that event, Dean Antonio Cepeda-Benito had the pleasure of announcing the winners of the 2012 Dean’s Staff Awards for Superior Performance. 

FORREST PATRICK ORR, Technical Director and Facilities Manager, Department of Theatre, was chosen to receive the Award for Superior Technical Support. Two individuals were honored this year with Awards for Superior Administrative Support:   LORI JEAN, Administrative Coordinator, Department of Philosophy, and M. SHEA, Administrative Coordinator, Global and Regional Studies Program. These awards recognize outstanding effort and achievement in the support of the mission of the College. Each award winner receives a cash award of $250 from the Dean’s office and has his or her name engraved on a commemorative plaque displayed in the reception area of the Dean’s office. 

Special commendations were also given to Kelly Dutra (Music and Dance), Salli Griggs (Sociology), Sally Knight (Dean’s Office), Katherine Layton (English), Srebrenka Sehovic (Geology), and Candace Smith (Political Science).

At the luncheon the following staff members who are celebrating milestone years at UVM were also recognized:  10 years:  Simone Blaise-Glaunsinger (Art and Art History), Wendy Chagnon (Biology), Mary Driscoll (Women’s and Gender Studies), Fran Farina (Religion), Denise Fontaine (Physics), Kevin Kolinich (Chemistry), Gabriela Mora-Klepeis (Geology), Romaica Omaruddin (Biology), Lorinda Roberts (Psychology), Frances Robinson IV (Anthropology), M. Shea (Global and Regional Studies), and Travis Verret (Chemistry); 15 years: Marilyn Eldred (Physics); 20 years: Alan Mosser (Theatre); 30 years: Andy Comtois (Theatre), Paul Decausemacker (Art and Art History).  Three staff members were inadvertently omitted from this list: 2012 marks 20 years at UVM for Andrew Hendrickson (Dean’s Office), and 10 years for Vincent Pelletier (Language Resource Center) and Beth Wilkins (Dean's Office).
