Admitted Transfer Students
Congratulations on your admission to the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) at the University of Vermont. Each year highly qualified students transfer to CAS from other colleges and universities, and we welcome you. In 2013, CAS enrolled over 260 transfer students. These students came to UVM from places as far away as Switzerland, Korea, Canada, and the United Kingdom; from towns in Vermont; and from many different regions within the United States.
As a College of Arts and Sciences student, you will be part of an active learning community. Your studies will be built upon a firm foundation in the liberal arts, and you will be able to choose from 47 majors within the College and from more than 80 minors from across the University. Our mission statement affirms that the College “welcomes difference, values collaboration, encourages debate, and stands for integrity, service, and academic excellence. We are dedicated to the rigorous pursuit, understanding, and dissemination of knowledge through the process of discovery, the creation of art, and the practice of teaching. We provide an integrated and engaging multidisciplinary experience that generates creativity, critical thought, effective communication, and a practiced commitment to serve the pressing needs of society and the natural world.”
