"This summer as part of my research I contributed to the Nantucket Island Ponds Water Quality Report. I am on Capaum Pond, which was historically the first port of Nantucket, Capaum Harbor. I kayak out into the middle of the pond every other week to collect various data points about the pond. At the end of the summer, we should be able to give a complete report on the health and quality of the pond. I love how concentrated I am in this photo, completely unaware of the camera! I also love how decked out in sun gear I am- one bad sunburn will scare you the rest of the summer!"
