Senior Lecturer

As a Senior Lecturer in the department my focus is on teaching students the knowledge needed to be successful in the field of nutrition and food sciences as well as advising them through their academic years. Through encouragement and problem solving I work with students to achieve their highest potential.

I currently teach courses ranging from an introductory career exploration course, to food science laboratory courses, to an upper level capstone course on food safety plan development. I am a firm believer that education should be both interactive and fun. My lab related courses are oriented to help students develop not only specific techniques, but also an understanding of the organic nature of learning. I encourage the use of “failure” as a means of learning materials more completely.
