Vermont Agricultural Experiment Station
As Vermont’s land grant institution, the University of Vermont’s Agricultural Experiment Station (VT-AES) was created in 1886 in response to the Morrill Act. With a mission to address Vermont’s agricultural issues through research, the Station is housed in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Funding for the Station comes from the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the University of Vermont through the State of Vermont’s appropriation.
The research done at the Station falls under the USDA goal areas of agricultural systems, food safety, nutrition, natural resources and the environment, and economic opportunities and the quality of life.
The Station, in conjunction with UVM Extension, publishes an annual report in order to share information on current research projects and outreach activities that are being conducted. Each spring, an informational session is held in Montpelier to keep Vermont’s legislators informed of current activities.

Proposals are to be submitted electronically to Jane Nevins by Thursday, April 25, 2013 with a printed cover page SIGNED BY YOUR DEPARTMENT CHAIR.
