"Work harder than anyone else in the room, you'll have only the sky as your limit," said School of Business Administration Alum Alissa Sheftic. Sheftic is working in Operational Controllership during her fourth and final rotation in the GE Aviation Financial Management Program (FMP) in Cincinnatti, Ohio. Her current job duties in internal audit and compliance have her working to evaluate business risks across sites and identify and mitigate risks within processes and functions.
The Essex Junction, Vermont native was the 2010 recipient of the Excellence Award and a member of the two-time America East Championship women's basketball team at the University of Vermont. Her favorite class was the Wall Street Seminar with Professor Jim Gatti.
"What I miss most about being a UVM Business Student: the classroom," said Sheftic. "When you enter the workforce at any level, you don't always have the opportunity to hit the pause button and ask questions along the way."
Sheftic will finish up her duties in the fourth and final rotation of the GE FMP in the spring 2012. She will soon begin to explore other career opportunities within the company as a whole.
