Michael Laramee graduated from the School of Business Administration's MBA program in 2008. He currently works as a Physical Therapist at Fletcher Allen Health Care but recently decided to start his own business.
"One day while watching my wife Kathleen go through the manual process of organizing meals for a neighbor who recently had a baby I came up with the idea of creating a website to simplify the process," said Laramee.
Laramee worked with another School of Business alum, Stephen DePasquale (MIS '98) to create mealTrain.com, a free website designed to reduce points of confusion when it comes to cooking meals for a family in need.
"The birth of a baby, a surgery, or illness can be a very exciting or difficult time," Laramee said. "Friends and family want to help during this time of need and mealTrain.com give them a simple and tangible way to show they care."
MealTrain.com was launched in January 2010 and has helped organize meals for families around the country. Laramee says, "the skills I acquired in the MBA program continue to help me solve the challenges I face running my own business."
He currently resides in Burlington with his wife and their two children.
