Distinguished Speaker Joins Accounting Students in Class

Scott Showalter

Another great reason to attend the business school is the caliber of our guest speakers.

We recently welcomed Scott Showalter, who with 33 years of Big-4 public accounting experience, 22 years as a partner, high level experience in governmental and not-for-profit accounting, current advisory experience to the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB), and his recent Professor of Practice position at NCSU where he teaches an MBA course on sustainability accounting, made for a distinguished speaker.

During his visit, Scott talked to several classes and covered his recent activities at the PCAOB, the need for all students to possess a personal ethical compass, his work on the Federal Accounting Financial Accounting Standards advisory board and the sustainability accounting course he teaches.

It was a great visit, and our students thoroughly enjoyed hearing from him; thank you Scott!
