Congratulations to UVM School of Business Senior Anja Gruber, who successfully defended her NCAA Championship title in the women's 5K classic race at the 2014 NCAA Ski Championships.

Anja, who is a business school major, again proved unbeatable in the first day of Nordic races at Soldier Hollow, hosted by the University of Utah.

“It’s really exciting. I would not have bet on myself today. I knew that if things went well I could have a good day,” said Gruber. “I’m in good shape and I love classic skiing, and I love the course here. But, it’s one thing to have a good race and it’s another thing to win. It’s pretty fantastic.”

She continued “after winning last year, I think I always had it in the back of my mind that it’s possible to (win again), but it puts a little bit of pressure on yourself. I think my coaches and my teammates did a great job of keeping that away from me."

Congratulations again Anja!
