Assessment of Student Learning Outcomes at UVM

Support Services

UVM has been developing services to support program-level assessment at UVM.
Among these supports are the following:

LimeSurvey Support

(Note: this support is for department/program surveys of majors only) Through the Center for Teaching & Learning, we are offering increased support for creating surveys of majors using UVM’s enterprise-level survey tool, LimeSurvey. Due to staffing considerations we can not offer support for other uses of LimeSurvey.

Student-led Focus Group Initiative

Through the Center for Teaching & Learning, we are able to undertake a limited number of projects using student-led focus groups to provide programs, academic units and Gen Ed committees with rich qualitative data on key questions related to their missions.

In general, projects in the Fall are dedicated to projects related to Gen Ed, and projects in the Spring are dedicated to projects related to program assessment or academic unit-level initiatives.

Consultation services

The Center for Teaching & Learning offers individual consultations, workshops, and retreat/faculty meeting facilitation services to departments and programs needing additional assessment support or training.

Workshops and informational meetings can be developed to meet the specific needs of your unit, and can cover topics such as developing program-level learning outcomes, drafting a sustainable assessment plan, and different tools and approaches to assessing student achievement of learning outcomes.
